How the Process Works?

Purpose

To legally register a marriage under either the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 or Special Marriage Act, 1954 and obtain a valid Marriage Certificate from Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office or Marriage Registration Office as per jurisdiction.

Eligibility

Criteria: HMA & SMA
Minimum Age: Groom: 21, Bride: 18
Marital Status: Both Parties must be unmarried, divorced, or widowed at the time of marriage.

Register the POA:

Visit the Sub-Registrar’s Office to register the POA, especially for property-related matters.

Witness Signatures:

The document must be signed by two witnesses in case of registration or notary.
